Anchor and The Wolf are an exciting mismatch of musicians from a variety of musical backgrounds. Collectively they create a grand and emotional sound with a foundation of touching and warm lyrics. Totally encapsulating, their ‘cinematic folk-pop’ takes influence from Sigur Ros, Noah and the Whale, Bon Iver and Arcade Fire, whilst bringing something completely new and unique to the table.

As well as captivating audiences across the country through appearances at a number of high profile venues, they have recently supported fellow rising bands: Out like a Lion, Bronze Medal and Life in Film. Members have also supported established acts such as; Bombay Bicycle Club, Stornoway and Hadouken.

The BBC Wiltshire introducing ‘favourites’ are swiftly building up a name for themselves around the UK.

“Genius…just Genius” BBC Introducing

‘Anchor and The Wolf produce sweet folk pop out of ukulele, acoustic guitar and glockenspiel that makes your heart feel a little lighter and the days a little better…Trampolines and Chandeliers is a dreamy, velvety piece of work’ Breaking More Waves

‘By taking an obvious folk base, adding in cinematic soundscapes and occasionally entering into wonderful, spiralling, guitar breaks they have created something truly unique, a real folk renaissance’ Ocelot Magazine

‘With lead singer; Zoe’s hauntingly beautiful voice, coupled with the up-beat, yet slightly distorted guitar, rhythmic bass and drums they have definitely created something you could get lost in…ones to watch for 2011’ MusicGlos Magazine

‘Grabs hold of your heart and squeezes until there’s not a single drop of emotion left in it’ Sam Lee, Swindon Advertiser

‘Anchor and the Wolf seem to be pushing a few boundaries, mixing up folky pop vibes with a wash of cinematic soundscapes and the occasional burst of post-rock attitude.’ Green Man Music

18 year old singer and songwriter Ed Tullett holds the world on his shoulders as he echoes out melancholic tales in the vein of Bon Iver, Iron and Wine and Arcade Fire.

Over the Summer, the Uckfield based teenager recorded, produced and mastered his debut album, “Never Joy” – all from the comfort of his own bedroom. “Never Joy” is a showcase for his age-defying, mature and poignant lyrics supported by arrangements that really demonstrate a young talented musician at work.

“Genuine, organic talent. If this talent is adequately nurtured, we can hope to be hearing a lot more from this young man in the future” God is in The TV

The group came together in early 2009, when songwriter and classically-trained pianist Lorenzo Papace recruited vocalist Alizée Bingöllü, multi-instrumentalist Isabelle Royet-Journoud and violinist Léa Bingöllü. They promise “a return to old things forgotten too quickly by the current music.”

Ödland released their first EP “The Caterpillar” in 2009. After adding cellist Alice Tahon to their line up, they released debut album “Ottocento” in Spring 2010. They are currently touring Europe through June to end of July.

“They sing some of the most captivating songs you’ll hope to hear”- BBC Music

Bristol based sisters Jessica, Mary and Lucy Cadbury sing in perfect three part harmonies that come naturally to them as being sisters. For over the last year they have been captivating audiences with their beautiful, lilting melodies and self-written songs about loves lost and won.

With a childhood surrounded by music, it was only a matter of time that they would start making folk inspired pop music. It took an open-mic night and an appreciation of the modern folk movement that inspired them to continue gigging.

2011 saw the band expand their sound and perform on larger stages across the country including a number of festivals (Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Fairview Convention) and supporting acts such as Jake Morley, Cattle & Cane and Paper Aeroplanes.

Afer a very successful year, The Cadbury Sisters are now looking to record their first album and also in discussion with two major record labels.

“The songs are full of everything that is great about the current contemporary folk movement. ‘Coloured Autumn’ alone has shades of The Pierces, Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo and The Webb Sisters. Meanwhile ‘Changes’ and ‘The Sea Has No Back Door’ recalls the beautiful songsmithery of Kathryn Williams.” BBC Music

“Cheltenham is famous for many things, Regency architecture, the Literature Festival, the Gold Cup, and now, or at least very soon, ‘The Cadbury Sisters’.” The Cheltonian

“Beautiful harmonies and gorgeous vocals” BBC Radio 2 -Tom Robinson
